Rowan Oak is open to visitors during the hours listed below. House admission is $5 CASH ONLY.

NO restroom on site due to ice storm damage. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hours of Operation

The house is open during the following hours:

REGULAR HOURS:
Tuesday-Saturday: 10am – 4pm
Sunday: 1pm – 4pm
Monday: CLOSED

SUMMER HOURS (JUNE 1 –  JULY 31st):
Tuesday-Saturday: 10am – 5pm
Sunday: 1pm – 5pm
Monday: CLOSED

The grounds of Rowan Oak and the Bailey Woods Trail are open daily from dawn til dusk. Visiting the property after sundown is prohibited.

Admission Prices

House admission: $5.00 per person CASH ONLY.

*Free admission to children 12 and under, University of Mississippi students/faculty/staff, and UM Museum Members.

No tour reservations needed except for groups of 10 or more. Please call 662-234-3284 or email rowanoakhome@olemiss.edu at least 2 weeks in advanced to reserve a tour if needed. Tour group size limit is 80 guests.

No more than 40 guests inside the house at one time due to fire safety regulations.

Visiting Guidelines:

No private events of any kind on the grounds without permission or reservation.

No picnics on the grounds during business hours.

No smoking, littering, or visiting the grounds after daylight hours.

Photography Policies:

  • Visitor photography for personal use is allowed after the house admission has been paid. No flash photography inside.
  • Photo shoot sessions on the grounds are preferred before or after business hours. There is no charge for photo shoots on the grounds outside of business hours or on Mondays when we are closed.
  • Photo shoot sessions on the grounds during business hours must pay the following rates:

 

– Portrait photography (e.g. family photos, senior portraits, graduation, prom): $5.00 per person, per hour, cash only.

– Proposal/Engagement: $60.00 an hour cash only.  

– Wedding: $120.00 an hour cash only.

The following is prohibited:

  • No photography for advertising or commercial purposes
  • No drone photography or videography
  • No confetti, glitter, bird seed, rice, flower petals (real or fake), champagne poppers, or any other prop that could become litter
  • No smoking, open flames, fireworks, or sparklers
  • Do not attach decorations to any part of the house, surrounding outbuildings, trees, or landscaping
  • No trimming, cutting, or altering vegetation on the grounds in any way
  • No climbing, pulling, or leaning on the house, outbuildings, trees, or landscaping
